Review of Nucleus Kernel NTFS
It found some files that the trial version of Active File Recovery and Ontracks file recovery did not find, but I think that recoverymyfiles found some files that Nucleus Kernel NTFS Data Recovery did not. The biggest missing feature for me was that it would not sort the files it did find by date. For whatever reason in my particular situation, files from 2000 to Jan 3, 2006 are there, and files from Jan 4, 2006 to Dec 8, 2006 are missing. Another feature in recovermyfiles not in any of the others including Nucleus is a search by or organization by specific file type. I do not think that Nucleus File Recovery launches automatically all the various specific file fixers - like for excel file launch the excel file recovery - that would be nice. Since my issue seems to be file table corruption (as the engineers a lsoft, makers of active partition recovery tell me that my mbr, boot sector, and partition table are ok), I think a file table recovery option would be nice.

Software did not work
Tried this software as it was recommended by a local reseller. Disk was present in boot but not in file explorer. Showed fault on track 0 and with partition. Software did not recognise any files on the disk so I did not buy teh product. Tried File Scavenger and that worked a treat recovering all files from teh 300Gb drive
